Wildcat Football’s Islin, Chenevey, Seneca, Johnson and Williams Compete at Virginia State Championship

Coach Pannoni and CVHS’s new wrestling Coach Belyea must be proud as Wildcat Seniors Jackson Islin, Martin Seneca, Dan Johnson, David Chenevey and Ricky Williams had the opportunity to compete at the Virginia State Championship. Only the best athletes are invited to represent their high school at these events. Ricky Williams was also selected for “All State” honors and is in the top eight wrestlers in his class in the state of Virginia. Congratulations to all our Wildcats.

CVHS CLASS OF 2010 CAM WALTER COMMITS TO VMI AS A KEYDET

Head Coach Sparky Williams announced Wednesday that Centreville Wildcat senior Cam Walter has committed to the Virginia Military Institute. Cam took his official visit last weekend. His senior season was a great one for the two year starter. He completed 118 of 218 passes for 7 touch downs. Virginia Tech Hokie’s Center, Beau Warren, was named Honorable Mention in the 2009 All ACC Football Team by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association’s Awards (http://www.theacc.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/113009aaf.html). Beau was a powerhouse at CVHS and received many accolades for his abilities on the field. When he graduated in 06, he joined his brothers to create a Warren legacy under Coach Beamer at the football powerhouse of Virginia Tech. Centreville Wildcat Alumni and William and Mary’s Tribe Junior wide receiver, Cam Dohse (2005) finished the season with 148 yards, to include a 98 yard down touchdown against the Villanova in the NCAA Playoffs game December 11, 2009. Two of our Wildcat Alumni are heading into their conference championship games….Colin Miller, 2009 Remington Nominee and Center for the 10-2 Central Michigan University Chippewas and Darryl Hamilton, strong safety for the Richmond Spiders. The Chippewas are facing the Ohio Bobcats at 8PM December 4th, 2009 on ESPN 360 for the MAC Championship in Detroit. The 11-1 Spiders face Appalachian state in the NCAA quarterfinals @ home at 7 pm December 5th, 2009. Last year Richmond beat Appalachian State 33-13. Tune in and cheer for you Wildcat alumni!

Warren was recognized the first week of the Army Iron Man weekly recognition after making six receptions for 60 yards, with six tackles and one interception on defense, in Centreville’s 21-14 win over Annandale. When Colin comes back to Centreville High School heads turn and young Wildcat Football players wonder if someday, they will get that big and make that kind of difference for their college team. Colin has always been someone that Wildcats looked up to…a leader on and off the field…he was an icon on the football field and on the wrestling mats. Each year when he returns home, he just keeps getting bigger and better. Cats vs. Robinson on Senior Night

On Friday, 6 Nov 2009, in their final game of the season, the Wildcats hosted the Robinson Rams. The Rams continued their winning ways with a 41 to 7 victory. It was an emotional night for the departing Seniors who were honored before the game along with all members of the class of 2010 who participated in fall sports and activities.
