Brett Warren (2004) has always had a reputation for toughness. A standout at CVHS he played for four weeks with an undiagnosed broken collarbone. The son of Redskins TE Don and younger brother of Hookie football Blake (2002-2005) was born to play football. Brett was recently recongized for his performance during spring practice by Coach Frank Beamer at the Virginia Tech 2008 Spring Game with the coveted Coaches Award. Brett, a r-Jr., 6′1″ and 238, had the opportunity to start at linebacker at Tech during the Duke game last fall and has made a huge difference with his “physical brand of football” and leading the defense in points during his starts. Brett’s younger brother Beau (2006), r-Fr., 6′3″ and 275 plays center for Hokies, started for both the Georgia Tech and Florida State games, and is credited with helping the team win both contests. The Warren brothers and Hokie center Matt Welsh (2004), r-Jr. 6′4″ and 295, were all standouts at CVHS and proudly represent the Wildcat football tradition at Tech.
