It’s Coach Pannoni!
Published December 21 2006
Jimmy Sanabria, Director of Student Activities at CVHS, today announced that
Gerry Pannoni is the new head coach for the Wildcat football program. Coach
Pannoni just completed his first season with the Wildcats as the Defensive
Coordinator. Prior to this season he was the head coach for the football program
at Woodson High School. His years in Fairfax have included coaching teams at
Robert E. Lee, West Springfield, West Potomac, and Groveton High Schools. His
time in the county began in 1980 and has included notable success in the form
of district, regional, and state championships. He was named the Liberty District
Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004, with the additional honor of Regional Coach
of the Year in 2004.
Coach Pannoni succeeds Coach Skinner, with whom he shares a long time relationship that stretches back to their college days. During his junior and senior years at Frostburg State University, Coach Pannoni was a team captain for the football squad. He was recognized as the team's Most Valuable Player during those years, and selected by the NAIA as an All District 18 Center.
Mr. Sanabria invites all interested parents to a “Meet the Coach” meeting on Saturday, January 13 in the CVHS auditorium at 9AM. Join us as we get to know Coach Pannoni and welcome him to the top spot for the Wildcat football program!
