Home Opener Victory 63 to 11

Time and Time, Again

Updated September 4 2005

Wildcats dominated their home opener as they defeated Woodson with a final score of 63 to 11. Drew Dudzik had 213 yards passing and ran the ball across the goal line for three of the first four Wildcat touchdowns. Wildcats totaled 405 yards rushing with 104 of those completed by Dudzik. Centreville was able to take the football across the goal line time and time, again throughout the evening.

Woodson showed a bit of spark towards the end of the first quarter, but that spark was quickly snuffed by the Centreville defense with a recovered fumble. The Wildcat defense crushed the Woodson offense as the Cavaliers were held to one field goal and one touchdown/two-point conversion toward the very end of the game. Wildcats were revved, pumped, and strong in their season debut.

The Wildcat offense simply shredded the Woodson defense (see the stats at the bottom of this page). Centreville was able to run through their opponent with 405 yards from the rush, pass over their heads for 213 yards, and watch most of the game from their own end zone with a total of nine touchdowns. The no-huddle offense was wearing-out the Cavalier defense before the end of the first half. Both Van Chew and Andrew Morgan rushed for more than 80 yards each. Chew completed two of his rushes with touchdowns. Play after play of fiercely flawless (not a single turnover!) Wildcat power and finesse pushed Woodson to their limits and the Wildcat football over the goal line.

Great Overall Team Effort

Every varsity Wildcat played in the contest last night. Centreville had a complete win across the game. Coach Skinner said the contest was a “great overall team effort.” Not only did the football players work hard - did you know the cheerleaders had to do a total of 319 push-ups?
