Hot Time, Summer in the City
Centreville Football is Heating Up!
Published Aug 16 2005
The
Wildcat football squad got a break from Mother Nature this morning as they
held their first inter-squad scrimmage. Amid
low clouds and 80 degree temperatures, the offense and defense squads battled
it out in a series of plays to prepare for their first scrimmage this Friday
at Edison High School and the
Eagles.
It’s Not Easy Being Green
This was also the first serious attack on the new bermuda grass football field! And it looks pretty. A bit of abuse from the scrimmage, but that field is as tough as the Wildcats. The bermuda grass was planted early this summer and has matured into one of the best playing surfaces at any Fairfax County school. It’s so precious, we’ve even heard rumors about Wildcat fans sneaking onto the field barefoot to rub their toes in the new turf.
Let’s Go To The Digital Pics
We don’t have video, but Betsy
Miller has blessed us with a collection of
still photos. Once you get past that pretty green color on the field, you’ll
notice Wildcats battling each other in the inter-squad scrimmage. Click here
