JV Slips to Robinson 0-14

House of Horrors

Published October 19 2005

JV Wildcats traveled to Robinson Secondary School for a crispy evening of football, but experienced a football "House of Horrors" and returned sans victory with a final score of 0 to 14. It was an unusual evening of Monday Night Football for the underclass. After the Varsity squad defeated the Robinson crew on the previous Saturday, expectations were high and the fans were fired-up. The Freshmen Wildcats had just completed a strong victory, and JV was looking to accomplish the same. Unfortunately, the House of Horrors prevented a successful outcome.

House of Horrors

The evening was full of odd and spooky behavior from the officials. Add to that the spine-tingling sluggish operation of the clock and you have a scene established for a gory outcome. In both halves of the game, fans cold hear the whistle of the officials, and then count the seconds before the clock would stop. This was scary. Enough to make you want to cover your eyes and avoid looking!

The horrors continued with penalties, which hurt the Wildcats. Penalties that were both apparent, and penalties that were as impossible to grasp as a ghost whisking by. Still, they hurt Centreville. And they helped Robinson move toward their end zone. Wildcat fans felt very strongly that the "home town" officials were less than subtle in their partisan flag throwing. Were these really just striped zombies from beneath the Robinson football field? It's just too spooky to consider.

Ram offense consistently push toward end zone. The Wildcat defense was working hard, but struggled to make important stops. Offense struggled, too. The Ram defense followed the ball effectively as they always seemed to end-up where the ball thrown or run. Wildcats offense turned the ball over to the Rams on downs numerous times throughout the game. The Wildcats now look forward to their next game, in just a matter of days, and put the final score of 0 to 14 behind them.
