Frosh Even It Up With Westfield 0-0

Freshmen
Wildcats hopped on the bus and arrived at Westfield High School and into a
clear, cool evening of football. What a relief to experience football weather
at last! And it energized both freshmen squads as the game ended in a 0 to
0 tie. Wildcats played well, making things happen and taking advantage of Bulldog
mistakes. Still, neither team was able to get the ball across the goal line
by half time.
The teams return from a brief breather to begin the second half of the game. Things begin to look promising for the Wildcats, as penalties plague the Westfield squad. Centreville offense is working and working - trying to make something click. Bulldogs defense is relentless, and prevents any action into the Wildcat end zone.
Same is true for the Centreville defense. They battle. Nothing happening in the Westfield end zone, either. Both punters are getting a workout in this game.
Then an opportunity! Westfield fumbles the ball and Centreville recovers on the 35 yard line. With 1:20 left in the game the Wildcats regain possession of the ball. Now they're getting creative. Centreville offense is moving the ball. They try something a little tricky—but the ball is intercepted by Westfield as the clock runs out of numbers. The game ends with a score of 0 to 0.
