Wildcats completely dominate their West Potomac guests with a final score of
49 to 0. Things started with a bang, as the Wildcats received the kick-off
and ran it back for 75 yards and a touchdown. That Centreville momentum lasted
through another 39 minutes of football.
The freshmen football squad continued their fine display of football skill from past weeks, as they finished the first quarter with 14 points on the scoreboard. Don't go away! Because Wildcats scored another touchdown in the first 17 seconds of the second quarter, and a successful extra point to crank the score up to 21 to 0. Hold on, now - don't skip to the concession stand just yet. With 2:30 remaining in the first half, Justin Conway runs the ball across the goal line yet again for another Centreville touchdown. The extra point was blocked, but the score was still a lopsided 27 to 0. West Potomac tried to show some signs of life, just to get crushed by the Wildcat defense. Thus ended the first half of the ball game with the scoreboard displaying 27 to 0.
The second half of the game begins, and you might wonder if the freshmen Wildcats are feeling a bit winded after that awesome first half. Nope. Brandon Carpenter carries the ball into the end zone for another Centreville touchdown. Wildcats go for a 2-point conversion on the extra point with success. The third quarter ends with a score of 35 to 0.
Ok, Wildcats, you must be getting tired by now - it's the fourth quarter and you have five touchdowns already. Besides, give the cheerleaders a break—they've already cranked-out 104 push-ups. Poor things. Somebody get those girls some Gatorade. But it ain't over yet, folks! With 5:24 left in the fourth quarter, Centreville scores another touchdown and extra point. It's now 42 to 0. Who needs a break now? Nobody. The Wildcat defense and offense show their stuff, and score yet another touchdown and extra point with 11 seconds left on the clock. The Freshmen Wildcats show a fine finish against the West Potomac Wolverines with a final score of 49 to 0.
