Bulldogs
Stadium was packed with more than 7,000 Centreville football fans Friday night
for a competition that’s been anticipated since last season. The weather
had folks watching the skies with anxious stares as thunder punctuated the
lightning that skipped through the sky. But things cleared-up before game time
with a chilly breeze and a very pretty sunset.
Kick-off was on time and the battle between Cats and Dogs began. Westfield was the first to light-up the scoreboard with a field goal. Both teams were cranked-up to 11 for this match-up, and it showed on the soggy turf. Wildcats and Bulldogs tore things up for the full 48 minutes of game time. Every game can have just one winner. This time it was not the Wildcats as the game ended with a score of 30 to 21.
Click here to see photos from the game. We have two pages of pics covering game action and fans in the stands. Centreville packed the bleachers to the point of standing room only, and you could hear Wildcat fans for miles—they were so loud it attracted the police helicopter! PHOTO UPDATE: Ed Morton has provided additional pics—one very cool photo of the crowd on the way to the stadium. Check ‘em out here.
Josh Barr published a report about the game on WashingtonPost.com. Click here to see his story (free registration may be required).
