Wildcats Roar

Varsity Wildcats start the season with a 27 to 7 victory over the West Springfield Spartans on Friday, September 10th. Wildcats traveled to West Springfield to be hosted by the Spartans and beautiful weather. Seems our team was lucky enough to squeeze-in a game between hurricanes. Dare we hope for the same on the 17th?

Step by Step

Wildcats delivered 7 points in each of the four quarters of play. West Springfield took advantage of a rare opportunity to throw the ball across the goal line in the third quarter, followed by a successful extra point. Coach Skinner has said, “we’re going to run and throw.” He was right! Wildcats frequently kept their feet on the ground near the end zone, but still made things happen in the air. Centreville dominated with touchdowns by Dudzik (210 passing yards for the game), Thornton (155 rushing yards for the game), Dohse (catching a 68 yard pass from Dudzik), and McMurrer. Every touchdown was crisply followed with extra points confidently kicked by Spencer.
