All About Our Kids

The 2004 Varsity Football Banquet was all about our kids. Coach Skinner, the MC for the evening, left no doubt that the Centreville High School Football Program exists for the kids.

The evening started just like a football game—on time and with Coach Skinner in-charge. He coordinated what could have been a nightmarish debacle of teenage boys attacking the buffett into a finely choreagraphed ballet of nourishment.

The Chantilly Country Club was packed with more than 200 Wildcats and fans, all devouring the barbecue, fried chicken, and mashed potatoes while watching a presentation of photos and video from the 2004 season.

As empty plates were removed from tables, everyone turned their attention to the podium where Coach Skinner officially brought the ceremony into full-swing. He started the evening with a brief recap of the season and valuable experiences gained by Wildcat players. Coach Skinner generously thanked volunteers and parents with a variety of awards. You would be amazed how many people really help the football program throughout the course of just one season. Coach Skinner shared his thanks to each and every one. He also introduced Irene to thank all the moms that helped with the Thursday night spaghetti dinners—and that’s a bunch!

Then the fun began. It was chilly and windy outside, but there was more cooking inside than just fried chicken! The Varsity Wildcats had 74 players participate throughout the 2004 season. Each Wildcat coach took the podium, recognizing each and every varsity football player.
